Ganping (Maggie) Ma is a senior at the Academy of Art University in the Fine Art Sculpture Department. Her current projects focus on works that are part bird and part airplane. The bird represents nature and the airplane represents industry. The combination of birds and airplanes are to express the situation of nature transitioning to industry. This sculpture, “Be Forgotten,” shows the disadvantage that the development of silence and technology may bring—threatening safety and causing destruction.
