For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with cameras. My obsession began when stepping into the attic for the first time and discovering a treasure trove of antique Kodaks scattered throughout. I diligently leafed through the decaying pages of the manuals, and used an 8mm Kodak Sportster that had subsequently managed to make its way from the attic to a wall in the den, where it hung as decoration, to shoot my first movie.

My passion for acting came a few years later, when I enrolled in my high school theater program, and expanded even further when, in a visual storytelling class my first semester in Academy of Art University, I wrote and directed a story with an actual beginning, middle, and end.

Training at AAU was like being a recruit in boot camp and the kid in a candy store, all at once. Passionate, nurturing, but demanding teachers instilled in me a professional work ethic, and rewarded me with professional actors, professional soundstages, vaults of props and set pieces to play with. They gave me the confidence to collaborate with equally passionate, headstrong artists, and to take charge by helming projects from idea to execution.

My experimentation with double exposure, in-camera effects, and stop motion, garnered me second place in a film festival for my 16mm film. The PSA I directed for the San Francisco Coast Guard, tested my mettle, as I shot live helicopters while on board Coast Guard ships, while battling overwhelming sea sickness. As I was prepping that production, I was also directing my latest short narrative, Shutter, which won Best Short Film at the 2020 NXTUP fest.

I feel prepared and excited to enter the industry, armed with confidence, humility, enthusiasm, imagination, and projects itching to find their way to the screen.
