I am Sung Yen Lai. I graduated from Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2019, with an MFA in cinematography. For the first year and a half of college, I was a graphic design major. It gained me access to film sets where I got to be a PA, grip, electrician, and set dresser. My positive experience resulted in me changing my career trajectory from graphic designer to cinematographer.

I’ve gained some measure of success, being a go-to cinematographer for students on student shoots.
